Ladling out a soup or stew can turn your kitchen into a messy disaster area if done wrong. America's Test Kitchen shows off a way for drip-free ladling without forcing you to try and hold the destination bowl over the pot.
First off, drop the ladle into the soup and grab as much as you want. Before you lift the ladle out, dip it back in so the liquid comes halfway up the ladle. The tension on the bottom of the ladle grabs any drips, so when you pull it out you'll be able to transfer it to a bowl without spilling soup all over the counter.
