All that's left for Westwood is a major (AP)

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. ? Lee Westwood is trying to win a major with a new approach. He's not going to try so hard.

Westwood comes into the PGA Championship at No. 2 in the world, and arguably the best player to have never won a major. He has been a regular contender at them over the last three years, and the pressure only got greater when his best friend, Darren Clarke, won the British Open last month.

Westwood says there is no point in treating the PGA Championship more significantly than any other major. He says it's four rounds of golf, just like the Indonesia Masters that he won in May.

The attitude also applies to his putting. Westwood says he'll hit putts like he doesn't care.
